As we are approaching the eleventh hour of the eleventh day, I am taking time to remember my two grandfathers who both participated in the two world wars not that long ago. My Grandpa Henderson fought in World War 1 and my Grandpa McGee fought in World War 2. I wish they were here today so I could ask the questions I was too young to ask when they were alive. What was it like? Were you afraid? Would you bear arms again? Why? What would you tell us today about your experience that may deter us from ever having to go down that path again? So we never forget?

In the absence of my two granddads, here’s a couple of thoughtful quotes that are worth adding on this day. I am certain they would approve.

“The things that will destroy us are: politics without principle: pleasure without conscience; wealth without work; knowledge without character; business without morality; science without humanity; and worship without sacrifice.” – Mahatma Ghandi

We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.

Lest we forget.
